He tells us he's devastated, but the emotion didn't come through in the writing.Įv was snarky and unwilling to commit, even though it was Si who was supposed to be the commitment-phobe (or so we were told I never saw any evidence of this). Some authors can pull it off, but it got old quickly here, especially since I never felt Ev's grief. Ev lost his husband a year prior and thinks that being with Si is tantamount to cheating on his deceased spouse. ![]() Unfortunately, I didn't much like Everett. He said something stupid once and apologized, but he was understanding and patient. Silas, who's a police officer, was a likable character.
